The Real Deal on Agmatine Sulfate

By Todd Lee M.D.

Im sure you've noticed all the new pre workout pump products have Agmatine sulfate in them now right? What you've probably heard is that it may or may not give a pump. Well it is a very confusing subject but I will make it easy. there are three versions of Nitric Oxide Synthase that Agmatine acts on. It inhibits the ones in your brain and heart, and activates the ones in your muscle capillaries. This means that Agmatine sulfate activates the enzyme that converts your traditional citruline and arginine based pump products into active nitric oxide in your muscle, but not elsewhere. Agmatine Sulfate amplifies the other pump products effectivenes!

The best time to take it isn’t pre-workout though, its first thing in the AM on an empty stomach. This also takes advantage of its growth hormone boosting effects. The pump benefit may take as much as 2 weeks to reach full effect but you will have an all day basal pump and pre workout Arginine will boost it to skin splitting levels!
